  1. Beautiful tree, Nadine. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Best wishes to your cat too. I enjoy reading your posts. We visited Germany a few years ago and I dream about a return trip. (have family scattered about). Looks like now we’ll have to wait until the economy turns around.

  2. Merry Christmas!! Loved your photos. I was scanning through them and feeling all mellow and Christmassy when I came to your kitty in the collar. Poor thing! Still, I laughed out loud in surprise. I hope he/she has a happy holiday, too.

  3. Merry Christmas to you and yours too, Robin! Yes, the current state of the Dollar and the economy in general make it difficult for Americans to visit Europe, but Europeans find it cheaper to visit the U.S., of course, so at least somebody’s happy. 😉

Hi Penny, and Welcome! Yes, poor Shadow has had a bad few weeks, and things didn’t go as smoothly as we’d hoped they would at his vet visit last Monday. We’re all hopeful that this next week will see the collar removed, though! He’s as comfortable as he can be right now, either in front of his heater or on my lap, and we made sure that he got extra treats and love and attention today.

Thanks for stopping by and a Merry Christmas to you too!

  4. Thanks Emma! I used my Sony Cyber Shot DSC-W300, with the SCN (scene) setting on Twilight (shoot low light scene using a tripod) but without the tripod part. I have one, but was just too lazy at midnight on Christmas Eve to get it out, so I’m lucky I have fairly steady hands I guess. The only light in the room was from the dining room light, about 12-15 feet away from the tree on the right, and the tree itself. I experimented with some other SCN settings, but this was the one that worked best. There’s also an ISO setting and ISO+ which sound promising (shooting without flash in low-light reducing blur, it says), so I may try those some night before we take the tree down just for kicks.

Hi Irene! Thanks for your sweet comments! It was a lovely Christmas morning this year.

  5. What a wonderful post. I’m a little late getting around to visit, hope your day was wonderful. Looks like Santa is getting a well-deserved rest.
