Needle Notes

To instantly improve the quality of your sewing machine’s stitch when piecing or quilting, use a Microtex or Sharp machine needle. Regular “universal” needles have a point that’s ever so slightly rounded (but not as blunt as a ball point needle that’s used for knits). Universal needles tend to slide between the threads of quilting cotton fabrics, whereas Sharp needles will pierce the threads. You’ll see straighter seams and a better stitch quality, just by changing the type of needle you use. The right needle really can make the difference!
