Coming Soon! Inchie Quilts

This was a great thing to wake up to this morning:

Inchie Quilts at

Even without the picture of the cover, it’s still a pretty awesome feeling to see your own book listed at! This caused quite a stir in our house on Saturday morning! The book is also listed at the AQS site, in the Upcoming Releases section and on it’s own page, and you can actually see a picture there as well as a short description.

Now that the book is listed at the AQS site and the mother of all book shopping sites, my editor has given the go ahead and I can share the actual cover art and subject material with you! So, without further ado, I give you Inchie Quilts:

Inchie Quilts

And here’s the description:

Join the latest trend in quilting and make the tiniest quilts yet only 1 inch x 1 inch square! Learn how to make these exquisite little gems from a master. Quilted and embellished with beads, crystals, fibers, and found objects, each is a miniature work of art. Inchies can be incorporated into traditional, contemporary, and art quilts as an integral part of the quilt design. They add dimension and interest to quilts both large and small. You can even rearrange the Inchies because they are attached with Velcro® tape! This is a mixed technique and pattern book that provides complete instructions for those who like to follow a pattern as well as many ideas that will inspire fabric artists to innovate and adapt the Inchie techniques and concepts to their own quilts in new ways.

I just can’t tell you how excited I am about this! It’s all coming together in such an amazing way, and I’m all over bruises because I keep having to pinch myself to make sure I’m not just dreaming! 🙂 In addition to the book, I’ve developed a special set of tools for you which will make it easier to create your own Inchies. The InchieSee & InchieDo Ruler and Viewer Tool set are being manufactured soon and will be available by publication time! I just finalized the graphics for the ruler and viewer tool, and finished up the instruction insert last week.

InchieSee & InchieDo Viewer Tool and Ruler SetFor now, I’ll sign off and head back to the work of the day: basting the Accessorize Me! quilt, which will have hundreds more Inchies on it, in case you hadn’t already jumped to that conclusion! 🙂 I hope this quilt will be going to Houston this year, and maybe even to Columbus for the NQA show, if I can get it finished in time to enter it there!

  1. holy cow! good for you:) This so exciting! I probably would have stopped random people while out and about to tell them I Had a book on Amazon!

    1. Hey Jennifer! Well, as you know, I’m a total homebody so I’m never out! 😀 When I did go for a walk to the bank and the bakery in my town the other day, I wanted to grab everyone I saw by the arm and tell them about it, but my German’s not that good! 😉

  2. Well, we KNOW Mom is happy for you even though she’s not a quilter! I do have a couple of people I know here who will buy a few copies to have available for quilt groups, and that will of course include the tool packs.

Might be easiest if I order them through your store….

    1. Heh, I keep telling you, I’ll get to you yet! I mean, you like fabric, you like quilts, so where’s the disconnect? Oh wait, it’s WoW, isn’t it? 😀 j/k

      1. Heh. Nope. No quilting for me. There are nitnoid things I CAN do (cross stitch one over on 50 count linen, anyone?) but quilting/sewing isn’t it. I don’t even sew clothing any more, nor bunnies, and will replace a piece of my clothing before I bother with mending.

  3. Congratulations, Nadine!!!
Can we say ‘we knew you when’?! Girls, we have our very own Quilt Celeb here!
I am so happy for you that all those hours of insane work making that incredible quilt will pay off in such an amazing accomplishment.
You are incredibly gifted and you are so generous sharing that gift with us, your cyber-students. You inspire us to keep on to realize our own quilting destiny.
( for me right now this translates to: get that wedding quilt made and hand-quilted before september… 🙂

    1. Hi Valentina! I do all that? You’re so sweet! But you know, it would be no fun at all here if nobody was here reading and chatting back, so more thanks go to you guys, if you see what I mean.

Thanks so much for the congrats and your lovely comments! Good luck on the quilt! Quilt, Valentina, quilt like the wind! 🙂

  4. Nadine,

I am so proud of you. Okay – I am going to petition Alex and Ricky – you belong on a segment of TQS!

    1. LOL! Thanks Kelly! I just watched the segment with David Taylor yesterday while I was machine quilting! Now his work is truly stunning. It’s such a great show, that would be pretty cool!

  5. Nadine what WONDERFUL news – congratulations. I’m hoping I can buy a signed copy then I can tell everyone I knew her when….

    You must be so excited!

    1. Hi Irene! I think I probably can get you a signed copy! 😉 You’re so sweet. Thanks for the congrats! I am pretty excited, though it’s still just sinking in a little bit.
