Bridging the Gap

Use a “bridge” when you piece patchwork blocks. A bridge is a small folded piece of fabric about 1½” square that you sew onto at the end of a patchwork seam, so that you can remove the patchwork pieces from the machine without cutting the threads. Sew all the way across the bridge, and push the next patchwork piece into the machine right behind it for speedy sewing that saves thread too!
