Take a Step Back

Use a reducing glass, a peephole viewer from the hardware store or a digital camera lens to get a view of your project from farther away during the design process. Seeing your project from a distance can help you evaluate the colors, values, and the overall design to see what works and what doesn’t and correct trouble spots as you go.

To use a reducing glass, hold the glass about 6″ in front of your face and look through it at your project. You’ll see your whole project, just much smaller than actual size.
