Rotary Blade Safety

Even dull rotary cutter blades are sharper than most knives and can still cause serious injury. Be safe with rotary cutter blades, even when it’s time to throw them away. Use a piece of lightweight cardboard or cardstock around a single blade and secure with packing tape before tossing in the trash, or keep a clean, empty baking powder can (with the plastic lid) on hand to store multiple blades before throwing away. You can also use a permanent marker to write “Old Blades” on one of the plastic storage containers that new blades are sold in, and toss it in the bin when the container is full.
