Shopping Carts and Inchie Sprinkles

DWQ StudioNo, I’m not dead, and I didn’t fall off the planet! Since I finished the quilt, I’ve been busy, busy, busy designing the shopping cart for the DWQ Studio, and trying to figure out all of the “stuff” that goes along with that. I’m hoping for a grand opening around the end of May, but heck, at this point any opening will do, even a not-so-grand one!

At the moment, the DreamWeaver’s Quilts Studio online store looks like it belongs to the website (see the logo above right), but I still have to make the programming work with the warehousing and fulfillment program on the one side, and Quickbooks Pro on the other side. Not to mention finish entering products and getting everything set up so that it actually takes payments and ships out the orders. Thank goodness I’m not really responsible for the “programming” (as in the HTML or ASP or whatever it is that makes it work back there), just the configurations to make the programming do what needs to be done. Whew!

Anyway, other than the design and configuration of the DWQ Studio, which is fun in a way, but kinda hard too, I have been working on some fun stuff like product development! This is the prototype for my new Inchie Sprinkles bead mixes:

Inchie Sprinkles

Aren’t they just the cutest little things? It’s the perfect amount of beads for an Inchie project, and the boxes are 1″ x 1″ square! I’ll be working the rest of this week on the actual bead mixes now that I have the packaging figured out. There will be 10-15 different mixes of the highest quality Miyuki beads to start with, and more to follow. I’m just so excited about these!

I’ve had some questions about where to buy Inchie Quilts once it’s published. I will have copies available in the DreamWeaver’s Quilts Studio, and as soon as the DWQ Studio is up and running there will be a special Gift Set featuring the book and the InchieSee & InchieDo Viewer Tool and Ruler Set available, and I will be taking pre-orders for both items, either separately or together. Obviously, you’ll hear it here first, so stay tuned!

  1. That certainly looks to be a really nice mixture of shiny, transparent and contrasting duller beads. It looks like there are some contrasting colours in there too. Rather tempting…………
