When machine quilting a medium to large quilt, be sure that you have a large enough table space around the machine to let the quilt spread out for free movement and not fall off the edges. If the quilt is draping over the edges of the table, the weight of the quilt will be working against you and smooth lines with an even stitch length will be harder to obtain. A table that is placed in a corner so that the walls are at the back and left side of the table is ideal.
