Before you bind your quilt, block it! Blocking helps to flatten the quilt and counteract any waviness or unevenness in the borders caused by the quilting process. To block the quilt, thoroughly wet it, and remove the excess water. Lay the quilt out on a table or the floor, and press and smooth until it’s flat and the edges are as straight and square as possible. Let the quilt dry for 24 hours, then trim excess batting and apply the binding.
