Photos at Quilt Show May Be a NO-NO

Most quilt shows have specific rules about photography of the quilts. Typically, you can take all the photos you like, but only for your own personal use. Personal use does not include publishing the photos anywhere to the Internet, either on your site or any photo storage site like Flickr, without the express permission of the artist and the quilt show producers. For some special exhibits, taking photos is prohibited, but for those where it is allowed, remember to keep those photos on your hard drive for inspiration purposes only, and snap a picture of the signage on the quilt, so you’ll know who the artist is.
