Border Quilting

If you’re stumped by quilting designs for the border of your quilt, let the fabric be your guide. If the border fabric is a large or busy print, a simple diagonal grid or some other sort of straight line quilting is your best bet. A curvy, complicated design like feathers will likely get lost in the fabric design and just won’t show up very well, whereas a grid or straight lines will contrast well with the busy print, and you’ll be able to see the quilting. Save the feathers for a quieter print, so that your hard work can stand out and be noticed!
