Have you found your machine quilting groove? You’re quilting along and your stitches are even, your curves and lines are smooth and everything’s going right? Even though you may be loathe to break that rhythm, take a break every now and again for a couple of reasons. First, get out of the chair, have a drink of water and a snack, and rest your eyes. Your body will thank you by letting you work longer! Then before you start again, check the back of your quilt, just to make sure it looks as great back there as it does on top. You may just avoid that “Oh, no!” moment when you realize that the tension has been way off for quite some time, or there are little pleats and puckers all over the back!
