Speed up rotary cutting tasks by teaching yourself to use the rotary cutter with your non-dominant hand. If you’re right handed, trim the left edge of the folded fabric for a straight edge with your left hand, holding the ruler with your right. Then it’s quick and easy to switch hands with the ruler and the rotary cutter to cut strips without moving the fabric for more accuracy and faster cutting! Start by making some test cuts with your left hand with just one layer of fabric that’s about 6″ long. As your left hand gets used to the cutting motions and the downward pressure, add layers of fabric until you can cut through four layers with ease.
